The Poetical Books (Job - Song of Solomon)
The poetical books reveal the heart of the nation of Israel and are considered some of the finest literature ever written.  It is as if the authors' very hearts have been opened up for all to see.  Pain is not minimized, nor is man's struggle to understand God downplayed. Questions of suffering are boldly asked, worship is gloriously displayed, wisdom is held in highest esteem, married sexual love is unashamedly portrayed and philosophy is openly debated.

IS THAT YOU, GOD?  The Father so passionately loves you that He sent Jesus to die in your place. He desires a personal relationship in which He speaks directly to you.  Have you spent most of your Christian life leaning on these beliefs without really experiencing them? Have you been in the presence of passionate believers who shared stirring encounters with God's voice while you own soul overflowed with confusion? How did these saints know God was speaking? No blessing surpasses a relationship with God in which you know when He is specifically calling to you. The more intimate your relationship with Him, the clearer God's voice becomes. This study will provide you with practical help in knowing what you hear is from God. You will become more familiar with God's Holy Spirit, His character, language and tone of voice.

Gideon by Priscilla Shirer
(Book cost $13.00)

Thursday Evenings - 6:00 to 7:30 pm, September 4 -
Facilitator:  Carol Moore
(Childcare is NOT available for this study)

God can use your weakness. Yes, Gideon can attest-weakness is a gift. Do you feel overwhelmed? Inexperienced? Intimated? Insufficient? Too old? Too young? Too invisible? Too afraid? Gideon's story involves far more than a wet fleece and a battle won with 300 soldiers. His epic victory actually tells of one man's struggle with his own weakness-and the One who transformed it into triumph. So, if you've ever struggled with insecurity or had trouble accepting your limitations, this study will help you see how God can use your weakness to unlock His strength.
