Thursday Evenings - 6:00 to 7:30 pm, January 12- March 22
Facilitator:  Jodie Jordan

Session 1 – “The Post-Exilic Books” - I Chronicles – Esther

These books were written after the Exile, to and about the Jews, God’s chosen people. First and Second Chronicles were written to encourage them in the land after they returned to Jerusalem, reminding them of their identity and heritage.  Ezra and Nehemiah continue the history of the Jews from where it left off in II Kings.  Esther is a beautiful story of the providential hand of God moving to protect His people.

Session 2 – “The Poetical Books” (Job – Song of Solomon)

The Poetical Books reveal the heart of the nation of Israel and are considered some of the finest literature ever written.  It is as if the authors’ very hearts have been opened up for all to see.  Pain is not minimized, nor is man’s struggle to understand God downplayed.  Questions of suffering are boldly asked, worship is gloriously displayed, wisdom is held in highest esteem, married sexual love is unashamedly portrayed, and philosophy is openly debated. As you study these poetical books, you will be amazed at their beauty, clarity, and passion.  At times it may seem that their writers have been reading your diary!  As they reveal their hearts, you will find they are much like your own.

The Amazing Adventure For Preschool Children (No Charge)

Tuesday Mornings - 9:00 to 11:30 am, January 10- March 20

A children's curriculum that correlates with the women's version of The Amazing Collection. The "Adventure" is geared for children ages 2.5 - Pre-school. The curriculum takes the child through every book in the Bible in a sequential manner (just like the women’s study of the "Collection").  Each weekly lesson includes a story, activities, color pages and a memory verse. A "Take Home" page is also included for the parent with suggestions on how to pray for the child that week, special activities the family can enjoy and a brief statement about the lesson taught that week..

James: Mercy Triumphs by Beth Moore (Book cost $15)

Tuesday Mornings - 9:00 to 11:30 am, January 10 - March 6
Facilitator:
(If childcare is needed you MUST pre-register, either online or by calling 954-745-6106)

Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any New Testament book. Come along with Beth Moore on a journey to get to know both the man and the Book of James. You will never be the same again.

Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer. Plus, Beth introduces a 5-tiered study approach that she has never done before.
