A Place of Grace

Have you thought lately about how blessed we are to be in a place of grace? It’s true. In the words of Paul, as believers: “We have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand” (Romans 5:2). The word access means “to be ushered into.” The word carries the idea of “being ushered into the presence of royalty.” In the New Testament, this word is found here and two other places, both in Ephesians and both with the same meaning as here: “For through him (Jesus) we have access to the Father… (Ephesians 2:18) and “In him and through him (Jesus) we may approach God with freedom and confidence” (3:12). By grace we are ushered into this place of God’s presence. How do we gain access into this place of grace before our Heavenly Father? He uses two words to answer this: “by faith.” It is by faith that we gain access into this grace!!!

This place of grace is the place in which we now stand. The Greek tense here suggests something permanent. So this place of grace is not a temporary arrangement but a forever relationship. How sweet is that?

As believers, this great privilege which is ours is a testimony to God’s faithfulness. The blessing of this place of grace will last as long as God is faithful. How long is that? Paul writes, “He will remain faithful…” (2 Timothy 2:13). David said, “Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies” (Psalm 36:5). God doesn’t run out of faithfulness. This is to say by God’s grace you will always have a place. And that place is with God!

So spend a few treasured moments today thinking about how blessed you are to be in a place of grace!

Devotedly yours,

Pastor Ron
