In the Circle of His Love

During World War II some men carried the body of a friend to a local cemetery in a small village in France. But the priest refused to bury him there because he was not Catholic. So the men buried their friend just outside the cemetery fence. The next day they could not find the grave. So they went back to the priest and he explained, “The first part of the night I stayed awake, sorry for what I had told you. The second part of the night I spent moving the fence.”

That is what Jesus did for us. He moved the fence of God’s love and forgiveness so it would include all who would trust in Him. If we have come to faith in Christ we have been “buried with Him and raised to walk in newness of life.” The Apostle Paul said, “For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier… His purpose was to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which He put to death their hostility…for through Him we both have access to the Father” (Ephesians 2:14-18).

The Good News we can celebrate today and forevermore is that in Christ Jesus we have been encircled by His love and have a bright future together as God’s Forever Family! And all God’s people said…

Devotedly yours,

Pastor Ron
