God Keeps His Promises
by admin
In the nativity story in Luke we are introduced to a righteous man named Simeon who received a promise from God that he would not taste death until he had seen the coming of the Son of Man, the Messiah spoken about by the prophets of old. Indeed, he lived long enough to behold and then hold the baby Jesus. Luke tells us,
“Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: ‘Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace, for my eyes have seen your salvation…'” (Luke 2:28-29).
On that first Christmas, Simeon realized something that we should recognize at this season of Christmas. It is this: God’s promises are true and He always keeps His word to you.
So this Christmas you will be reminded of many wonderful things in your life, including your treasured faith, and may it be that along with it you will hold on to this simple truth that God always keeps His promises! This is another reason during the season to give thanks to the Lord. May He be praised forever more!!
Christmas Blessings,
Pastor Ron
