Preschool Learning Center

We know choosing the best childcare and preschool for your family is an important decision. For nearly 50 years, families like yours have chosen our center for its excellence in care, preschool curriculum and Christian education. The cornerstone of our program is a loving, faithful staff of teachers and caregivers to better meet the needs of working parents and their children.

It is our mission to nurture the whole child physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. From 8 weeks of age until Pre-K, children are exposed to Christian values and hands-on learning, with the ultimate goal of preparing your child for kindergarten, future success and a life of faith.

CURRICULUM & Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK)

Our curriculum is developed around themes that help children to learn about God’s world and how to live with one another. Themes are designed to help lay a foundation for understanding God, Jesus, Bible, church, self, family, others, and the world around us. Activities in each unit help children develop language, reading, writing, and math skills appropriate to his or her stage of development.

Wee Learn, and/or Abeka are developmentally appropriate curriculum used in every classroom from our infants to our VPK Fours. Wee Learn and Abeka are approved by the Early Learning Coalition of Broward County, Inc. and Pre-K four classes use the Florida Standards of Achievement for Kindergarten. We introduce phonemic awareness in our Pre-K three and four year old classes. We also use the Florida Sunshine guidelines for Kindergarten as well as Broward County guidelines.

Voluntary Pre-Kindergaten (VPK) is a free program offered by the State of Florida. Enrollment begins in January and space may become limited. For more information:

Once each week, children attend a Chapel service, Bible Lessons are presented, teaching the joy of worship and prayer along with, songs and other related activities.

Physical Fitness

A purposeful program of movement and exercise is critical in the development of your child. Not only does it enhance motor abilities, it also helps in academic and other areas that go far beyond the playground.

Library Time

Each week your child’s imagination and love for reading will grow as our Library Time storyteller reads a wide variety of children’s books. Children are given the opportunity to learn new vocabulary words, discuss books and anticipate story outcome. Respect and care for books are taught each week.

In House Field Trips

First Baptist Preschool Learning Center promotes community awareness through special programs for children enrolled in the three and four year old programs. Throughout the year special events will be offered.

To further develop your child’s confidence and self-esteem, children participate in musical performances where parents are invited to attend. Of course, our annual Christmas pageant, which stars our three and four year olds, is one of the most anticipated performances each year! Finally, when the big day arrives and your child completes our preschool, you and your family can look forward to our annual “cap and gown” graduation.
